Sideswiped by Lia Riley
Off The Map #2
Release Date 7th October 2014

It was only meant to last the summer . . .
Talia Stolfi has seen more than her share of loss in her twenty-one years. But then fate brought her Bran Lockhart, and her dark world was suddenly and spectacularly illuminated. So if being with Bran means leaving her colorless NorCal life for rugged and wild Australia, then that’s what she’ll do. But as much as Talia longs to give herself over completely to a new beginning, the fears of her past are still lurking in the shadows.

Bran Lockhart knows that living without the beautiful girl who stole his heart will be torment, so he’ll take whatever time with her he can. But even though she has packed up her life in California and is back in his arms for the time being, she can’t stay forever. And the remaining time they have together is ticking by way too fast. Though fate seems determined to tear them apart, they won’t give up without a fight—because while time may have limits, their love is infinite . . .

My Review
4 smoking hot stars

Sideswiped is book #2 in the Off The Map Series, I read and enjoyed the first book Upside Down here’s a link to my review.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes...

I liked both Talia and Bran in the first book in the second book I love Talia, she doesn’t seem quite so crazy and she trying to create an independent life for herself and I can totally appreciate that.

Now Bran was a bit of a dick in the first book but he grew on me and by the end I kind of loved him. I’m sorry to say that in Sideswiped he becomes a whiny woman!!!!!

Someone needed to kick him up the ass because Christ he was a wuss!!! He moaned and whined and worried like a 70yr old woman.

That being said I still thought they were a lovely couple, together they stopped being idiots and behaved like normal people.

Talia and Bran definitely have some serious sexual chemistry and they connect on a physical level. The sex scenes were steaming hot and hell they went at it like rabbits!!!

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I’m glad that they made the life decisions that they did, the whole if you love them set them free thing feels very appropriate for this story.

Karma was bizarre he’s like the swampy of 2014 I feel like maybe he was gay and interested in Bran or he could just be a bit of an oddball.

I found this book very funny, I’m hoping that intentional lol, the hipster me against the man crusade was hilarious and all of the eco warrior stuff made me chuckle.

Don’t get me wrong I can appreciate the save the planet sentiment but I’m just not entirely sure if this was serious or more of a satire.

This book doesn’t feel like the end of Talia and Bran’s story there wasn’t enough final conclusions to their story. I’ve just found out that there is a 3rd book called Inside Out and
I’m fairly sure I’m going to go begging and see if I can get a copy to review.

Sideswiped gets 4 stars from me.

About Lia

Lia Riley writes offbeat New Adult Romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about as-of-yet unwritten books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. She and her family live in Northern California.
